I know it’s preseason, however...

It would be nice to collect a W one of these days., if nothing else but to instill some confidence amongst the players for the new regime behind the bench.

On another note, Farabee and Frost hardly look out of place.

Have the Flyers ever done good in preseason? I mean in the last 20 years?

They still look out of synch a bit. Cannot finish a pp to save their lives. It's no big deal in the grand scheme but I'd like to win and some success on the pp, because you know that if this rolls into the ref season it starts to eat at confidence.

Frost and farabee look great.

I had to laugh at 2Real posting 0-3 start to the season because you know the season hasn't started yet.

until the last game or two of the pre-season, all I really care about is that nobody gets injured and that our goalies look good

agree with majority....Frost and Farabee both look good. Frost really see's the ice well and the game seems to be slowing down for him. Farabee will only get better but even now he looks like a solid winger. Im still thinking both will see some time in LHV this year but the Flyers will only be able to keep these two down on the farm for so long.

You play how you practice.

I think the recent history of not doing well in preseason might have something to do with our recent history of slow starts.

The team needs to be assembled, they need to develop chemistry, they need to learn to hate losing, they need to learn how to win before the games start counting.

I think he may be like giroux....take two or three months and he will start to dominate in the ahl. He had some nice plays on both sides. Yes a little more weight will help...but those hands and feet. I know almost isn't a goal, but that one sequence , Halak had a highlight reel save. The other i feel the pass was in his skates a little. My can he exploid with three strides. farabee looked good as well. Both had some nice plays.

Anderoff was not impressive to me. Can't spell his name but kyle c. can zip around.
Myers again with a good game.

The Flyers will be fine. A lot of the veterans are getting in sync with AV's new schemes and the coaches are taking long looks at the kids. It'll all come together. 2Real Gwan 2Real.

People complaining about preseason losses haha. The big guns all looked good and i thought Ghost had some confidence going. Frost was impressive, always seemed to be around a scoring chance, he just needs to find out what works for him at this level. I also felt he could use a bit of a sense of urgency at times, great poise but sometimes looked a bit too comfortable.

I'm hoping the plan this weekend is to get a final look at the bubble players/eventual call-ups and then roll with our projected lines. They need time to get in sync. I haven't been overly impressed with our pace or ability to connect on passes. We will eventually get in sync. I realize that it is preseason. But I was expecting the pace to be a little more intense with AV. Am I missing something?

Hopefully Patty is back soon and we can use the last 2-3 games to tune up for the regular season.

I thought Farabee and Frost held their own but Frost seems a little reluctant out there. He did get push around a little as well. Farabee doesn't shy away from contact but he needs to get stronger. That will come as he continues to mature.

Didn't see the game Hart started but reports were that he was sharp. Hopefully he keeps us in a few games until we can get rolling.

Frost was probably apart of the most scoring chances on the team.

That Halak save on Frost was highlight reel. If that was a meaningful game, it would be on all the sports shows this morning. 😲

“It’s a process,” Vigneault said. “I think what you saw today was one team that knew their system, executed it without thinking, and played it well, whereas we’re a little bit in the thinking mode on the ice, and it makes us look a little hesitant. We have a lot of work to do, and we’ll do it.” …

Interesting the Flyers are not even dressing Strome to play in the pre-season. Not a good sign.

I don’t care that it’s preseason. It’s an excuse. The Flyers has their entire top PP unit playing last night, plenty of opportunities, with last season’s results.

Alain Vigneault is a top notch coach but I assumed that he would come in here and adjust. Offer up something different, instead of more of the same. New Power Play format.

Now what might be a huge issue is believing you can simply replace one player with another because they play a similar role. Simmonds was the best net front presence in the league for half a decade and tough as nails. Large shoes for JvR to fill. Schenn I believe led the league in PP points the season prior to us trading him, so large shoes for Couturier. Yes from a skill standpoint JvR and Couturier should Dwarf Simmonds and Schenn but this is where Intangibles are key.

Now, we can’t focus on what we don’t have but what we do have. Enough of Giroux on the right side on the PP. Giroux is a left winger at even strength, and Jake is a right winger at even strength. So how much sense does it make to switch sides in an offensive situation like the Power Play?

Frost actually reminded me of a young Giroux last night. I thought he was pushed around rather easily in the Rookie game to the point were I didnt think he'd have much of a chance making the team out of camp.

I thought it was a complete turnaround last night. He seemed like he was actually strong on the puck for someone his size. Wasn't afraid to get in corners and did battle with some of Bostons big guys. He also seems to have that playmaking ability of Giroux. He can slow it down and create a lot of space for everyone. It will likely take time to grow but last nights game showed some good signs for Frost.

I didn't see much of the game, but was Backes trying to get Andreoff to fight towards the end of the first? They were going to the benches and Backes was right up against him, yapping in his ear. Just curious is something happened out there between them.

The HC didn't turn us into a stanley cup contender by his third preseason game!!! Burn the organization to the ground!!
